In response to Chatham Hall’s desire to preserve the memorable experience and historic character attributed to its dwindling mature tree canopy, a tree framework plan was developed to both guide future plantings and inform the maintenance of existing species. The report illustrates the varied benefits of different-sized species, highlights the particular historic and ecological value of centenarians and older trees, proposes plans for replacement and new species, and provides guidelines for tree care and planting.
